Hello All,
On behalf of the volunteers and staff of the Sick Kids Hospital Reading Room, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! The Reading Room is off to a very exciting start for 2007. On January 11, we had a brief visit from the Prime Minister, Steven Harper. We were excited to hear his announcement on the pilot project to shorten wait times for children in need of surgery.
During my first 4 months in the Reading Room I’ve been overwhelmed by the many notable visitors that have joined us for story-time and contributed to our collection. These visitors include; cast members of The Nutcracker, the Disney Princesses, The Rockettes, and Maryann Kovalski (author of Omar on Ice, The Wheels on the Bus, and other popular tittles) to name a few. We always enjoy having guests in for story-time. Whether you are a published author, a fairy tale damsel, a nurse, or library worker (especially if you’re a library worker!!) we invite you to be a guest reader.
