There's a real wealth of information available through the Thomson and Gale Databases. In addition to the "biggies" that you probably know about, such as CPIQ (Canadian Periodicals Index), Expanded Academic, and Opposing Viewpoints, there are approx. fifty other databases, many of them cross-searchable (that is, you can seach several simultaneously).
To get a full list, go to (say) CPIQ. Click on "Change Databases" On the upper right of the Search screen. Do you have a student patron? - Try "Junior Edition" or "Student Edition". A small-business owner? The "InfoTrac Small Business E-Collection" has "250 subject-appropriate full-text periodicals". For more specialized (or even esoteric and arcane) searches, they offer: LegalTrac (not specifically Canadian, but indexes over a dozen Canadian journals); Military and Intelligence Database; Diversity Studies E-Collection; Pop Culture E-Collection; and the War and Terrorism E-Collection, among many other options.
Browse around: There's even - just in time for your Spring reading - a Garden, Landscape, and Horticulture E-Collection!
(Thanks to LO and FW for showing me the "change databases" trick.)

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it looks as though we no longer have access to all of these databases in the way you describe. This may be because, for instance, "Junior Edition" and "Student Edition" are now available through AIOS by title. Perhaps all of those databases were temporary?
Anonymous is right that some products have been added to the menu of AIOS - yeah! But you can still get to the other products just as described. There may have been a glitch that day that Anonymous checked - perhaps it was when some products were in transition to the menu. The Virtual Library will be added soon (title will be something like Gale Virtual Library) with some great resources.
Some of the great resources are in the Gale Virtual Reference Library. Great Encyclopedia of Religion, for example. Very soon, though, this workaround won't be necessary. Just as the Student Edition and Junior Edition have been placed on the AIOS menu, so will the Gale Library.
