Another tip from Leena.
The best way to find On Order items is through ISBN (#13). You can also retrieve the record through keyword. You cannot find the item through exact or Starts with title or author
Here's an example of why it is useful to use ISBN (find it in Chapters.ca or Amazon.ca)
A patron wanted Hell or High Water: my life in and out of politics by Paul Martin (being released this week). Couldn't find it. Leena found the record by using the ISBN. A keyword search for hell and martin wouldn't retrieve the item. TPL has a place-holding title, "Memoir" with no mention of hell or high water: when the book was ordered, the publisher did not have the final title.
Anyhow, bottom line: for new items that may have On Order records only, use keyword search or ISBN search.
The ISBN can be typed into the keyword search box in iBistro (just like the Chinese accession numbers).
In Symphony, use the numbers as keyword too but change the Index to ISBN.
